Hit Analysis
Dear Reader's
At the bottom of my blog is a "site meter" tool I use to analyze where and what kind of hits I get on this blog. From time to time I go threw the site meter and figure out what the most popular post was and where my readers come from on the web. The hit meter often tells the search words and the names and location of those landing here. There have been some pretty big names in Autism on this blog. Before the passing of Dr. Rimland ,father of the movie Rain Man there were a number of 'hateful -spite type' search words. I know from personal experience with the late doctor we were not best of friends. Lots of "his search's" were digging for dirt, it seems.
*GASP* The most vulgar search's often come from the autism professionals them selves and the tone of their search words tell as much as their search did. For example a direct quote from the Search Page, " HOW TO TOILET AUTISM RETARDS" the kicker to this search was it was from one of the "best most well known " autism research centers" in the country (United States). Often times the so called professional have the attitude it seems all of autism is just retarded retards with no hope what ever. I know I don't know the whole context of the quotes but, the general tone is just awful and points to autism professional as nothing more than in this for the money, fame and a good job.
As all of autism took off after Rain Man the movie blew things out of proportion,it made it all that much easier to ignore the old working autism the next 1000 chapters in psychology as our discovery and connection to normal life has never been in a text book before. Our new news, new ground connection from the bottom of the gene pool to Einstein shows the entire scope to the human mind and the plug in steps we did to pull off the trick of normal. Since none of this has been in a book before and it will never pass review or spark the interest of normal regular humans (researchers included) who unbeknown to themselves think in shortcuts. The short cuts we learned while at the bottom of the geen pool, are indeed autism all figured out. Man will never add those 1000 chapters to psychology as long as he wears the blinders of normal thoughts.
The following are direct search quotes from my site meter.
Pictures of man, blessed with Autism, Autism driving (10-11 for this one) , liquid Zeolite in phoenix, Autism Man pie, The truth about Autism , Book Review Rain Man ,assistant professor & savant syndrme , Autism Independent studies, Wired Magazine Autism Clones, Looking up and to the right, Key Answer Autism Rain Man, Autism refuses to go out in car, When did Rain Man 's Parents Die, Key Autism with Rain Man, Savant, Project, curse, Rain Man's Cock Size (really) ,The Bad Autism Blog, Kinds of Autism, Lights for Autism , Timeline Of Autism, Winston Churchill and Autism (10 for this one too), Splinter Skills, A child with autism like Rain Man, Driving while Autistic, Wild Child Boy Autism, Vocational School Autism, Gay Aspie (10 or so for this one ) , Autism Classroom, Mathew Goodwin Groden, Teacher notes autism level 3, Avoidance Personality making friends, Autism Graphs, Brain Waves Autism , bi Polar Autism ,Bill Stillman ,Autism Tolerance, and finally, how did Rain Man did or did not display autism.

I found your blog after googling "Autism and Narcissism".
Way back in 1979, I found a book in the local library discussing autism, written by a man who held degrees in anthropology and child development psychology. It was interesting because he had skills in observation and his book involved observing families who were having difficulties raising their children. His observations were remarkable. I cannot find his book again after searching online for years now. But I think he was really on to something. Which is why I want to find the book and read it again.
Also, I am so happy to have found your site. I am still reading your posts and I am finding clues as to why I don't "fit in". And that it is okay, if not wonderful, not to fit in.
Thank you for creating this blog.
Lane
Thank's Lane, I'm glad you like (humor) not fitting in - I know the feeling.
The Library of Congress is probably your best bet these days for finding your old 1979 title. I have discovered as you have lots of old Autism books have been banished from library shelves as the trend is toward new age autism publications. A Librarian friend of mind told me they were encouraged to purge their shelves of the "troublesome" titles :ones that countered new Autism some years ago.
Another possibility, is if you live in an area with a big library system they might be able to do an inter library loan where your library borrows the book from another distant library. Those libraries might use search engines called EBSO host, OCLC World Cat. and Proquest online book search systems. If your lucky they might be able to locate your title.
As for Narcissism, and Autism, boy don't those two conditions work off each other? Thankfully lots of Aspie are able not only to over come the autism but the use Narcissiam in our lives as a great social skills builder, generally cleaning up the mess left behind by the N. person in our lives.
Thanks for the Kind Words Rich
Rich, thank you for your thoughtful and informative answer. The library purge of earlier books exploring the origins of autism is something I had never considered. Not very responsible on their part for them to decide on what information is to be kept or discarded.
It appears I am more a believer in the pre New Age/Rain Man Autism theories: for starters I never believed it was a good idea to go to a Black Sabbath rock concert with an infant. Or worse, an unborn child. The assault on the child's senses must be indescribable. The book I am searching for questioned those kinds of behaviours in parents.
Autism can't all be about vaccinations and allergies. There must be more to it. Sometimes I wonder if the world is on the precipice of a great leap in evolution of the human mind. The idea intrigues me.
Again, thank you for your reply. I hope you won't mind if I continue to visit your blog and post sometimes. Your entries are very interesting and give me much to think about about. Particularly the Turing Motor. I will read more about that. I don't understand it yet, but I will give it my best try.
Lane
The blueprint of old working autism is the biography of Alan Turing (1912-1954) He was father of the computer. Alan 's life had autism written all over it and like many of us ,pre rain man , we came out odd but ok. It was amazing what we could do with out the diagnosis (anchor) of Autism. Teachers, Parents and tutors explored and exploited our good points and we eventually learned the building block thoughts of the mind and now fit in. (To the chigran of contemporary Autism and Psychology).
The book is called The Enigmia, by Andrew Hodges and was published in 1983. A PBS television show called Breaking the Code is based on this book (Hugh Whitmore adapted the the screen play). The Book and the Play all unknowingly describe old working autism and if autism were to re discover the old autism ideal it forgot in the rain man era as described again unknowingly in this book the blueprint of autism and the building blocks of the human mind are all spelled out.
Take all of this back a few more steps to the 1600's and the Boy from Ayeryon, is even more of the autism connection to man's roots. I have several posts on that on this blog as well.
Thanks for looking deep into autism. Best Rich
The Turing Motor, is probably not going to be able to be figured out until I can build a suitable working model. Most of its engineering is based in my autism keen senses and indeed it will have to be tuned by ear, my autistic ear to start with. The Turing Motor by its self is a high speed motor so it will be good for a race car on its own. It needs coupled with compressed air and electric to funtion as a good green daily driver. The no up and down moving parts and one central spinning cylinder are great for the seemless operation and transition from idling on air to electric midrange and then the Turning motor for high speed.
It will have to be reverse engineered something like Alan Turing's Computer was- its never been built before and the current piston and cylinder is so grossly misunderstood by even the best experts the leap from that to Turing Motor is not at all obvious unless your an Autisitc Engineer.
Don't expect to find much on the Truing Motor other than here. Of Course there will be 'experts galore ' lined up to say it is impossible until it actually runs and then they will flock to it and claim its great. Rich
