NPR Faces on Street Cars
National Public Radio (America)
An Announcement this morning on my local NPR Station of an upcoming segment was titled Autism ????? and the gist of the headline promoting the segment on All Things Considered, was some 'Autism Expert' is putting faces on Street Cars in a book or perhaps a video that he or she might have authored and it is supposed to help Autistic kids relate to emotion and people better. Well I give them a few points for trying but the reality is whoever and what ever expert doing this stunt missed the boat like all of Autism has.
As I was driving to work in a middle of a snow an ice storm, where a level 2 snow emergency had been declared I was using my perfected Autism Thoughts to drive ,figure and plan my future moves as I drove down a very treacherous roadway. I was using picture in picture thought to figure the new and changing conditions of the road. These honed picture in picture thoughts are where we take our day dream picture based thoughts and look at them like you were viewing a day dream. While this is happening our OPTIC vision is still on normal eye sight as you know it and walla I just completed the ultimate in autism thoughts. If and that is A BIG If any autism expert would care to listen to those of us that made it and figured out a never in print before though process they would see just how Street Car with faces drawn on them is cute and cuddly and nothing else. Only those of us that build on Temple Grandin's work and connect it to traditional thought could do the Street Car thing and even come close to getting any good out of it.
There is so much going on during and autism thought that the experts are ignorant of and they don't even know the right questions to ask us to even get a grip on our never in print before thought process. Sadly it is both Mr/dd and Einstein so that fact assures no Expert will even dream of sitting down and uniting all of us they will not admit to. Autism's billion dollar empire is peer reviewed and no one has the guts to think back before Rain Man and see just how big that designer autism has become.
As autism becomes the fad designer mental health condition of this century I do CRY and Weep out loud (and they say we don't show emotions) as I know and feel and have lived all the insight the Autism experts miss. When they jumped the gun and lost track of those of us that made it in life in our odd strange ways they lost sight of a segment of humanity that will probably die off soon and with us the one of the very last chances of man mind being explained. Autism properly told lived and experienced is good for at least another 1000 chapter in the psychology books.
