""GASP"" Old Autism folks have been doing just that for years on end now.
This 'awful' truth as modern (American mostly) autism sees it is our autism spark uniting Autism to normal thought is just pure poison. If our autism group were admitted to, the modern autism movement and epidemic would have a lot of red faced experts. The late Dr Rimland (Rain Man movie 1988) and many like him turned Autism into a circus and a side show that it never had to be. Dr Rimland and others jumped the gun and never knew the joy of autism they never knew when the lack of eye contact thoughts YIELD normal thoughts when properly done. We were still figuring that out as they invented Autism. They invented autism in 20 years and it took many of us 40 years to figure it out by trail and error. Had he not got so brash and ignored the crypto-sensitive Autism guidelines the ridiculous autism of today would never have got so far out of line? Few if any autistic would be in a group home and more importantly, Mankind would have figured out the building blocks of the mind, just like we have as we connected MR/DD autism to real life.
Every last one of us in our group of Temple Grandin's (and beyond) autism people link Autism Knowledge to real life and indeed have coaxed the golden Intellectual spark from our minds and sadly were too little too late. The billion dollar autism empire has to be very fussy about its facts and thus it is sure to keep all traces of old autism hidden. Old autism is very bad for their image. They rely on the peer review relationships of autism to keep their lofty ignorance afloat. Peer Review is very good at what its designed to do and it also by default locks out all other points of view, creating a good old boys club. Many years ago when I was considered the next Temple Grandin I was welcomed and loved in autism circles and then the RED Carpet was yanked when I would not change my story and when they discovered there were more like me from all over world that had done much better at over coming autism than any modern person has. Success like that is not success; it is treason as we are on the wrong side of the autism time line and epidemic. If Autism were sincere it would gladly investigate our discoveries and our never in print before thought process and apply that spark of life to modern autism practice.
I heard an under tow of people 'cough and choke' when I was introduced at an Autism work shop in In Bloomington Indiana as I was introduced and it was noted I drove from Columbus Ohio to Bloomington(6 hours) . It seems the autism teachers and professionals in attendance had never met old working autism until that point in time. I have helped 'New Age' Autism people learn to drive and have rode with them and I can assure you they were lacking in the real life common sense we had developed by accident. It was also so obvious why the people "helping us" will not allow their mind sets to expand beyond the MR/DD ideal. THEN when we do we are not hero's were troublemakers! In fact our anthropology has a multitude of drivers form all over the world and we drive on both sides of the road and IF autism would ever admit to us we could explain how we separate autism thoughts we learned (invisible to you, lack of eye contact) and normal thoughts the thoughts that result WHEN the autism ones are figured out. In fact autism thought yields normal thoughts when all is said and done, that is why we do the impossible and that is WHY there is no epidemic of autism in the golden days of autism when were just odd strange kids. (undiagnosed) That is why we take Rain Man a few steps further all the way in to a normal life.
The sad part is we rely on autism professionals to expose our success and they can't possibly admit to us without deflating their empire. Other Psychology Professionals will not step on their toes and WORST OF ALL our autism knowledge is the very building blocks of the human mind and our spark of life and reality autism success remain forever hidden. Our knowledge has never been in a text book before and is NOT discernible in current psychology research of anytype and they are not even asking the right questions or using the right approach to figure out the human mind. I'm sure once our building blocks are discovered and we begin to answer all the questions of the human mind people will finally jump on our bandwagon. But until then modern autism will fight tooth and nail to make sure we stay out of their way and with their billion dollars worth of might and Autism Speaks type of events and Nascar races,our real life coaxed autism skills that work and work well don't have a chance.
Modern autism practice unknowingly took away an autisitc's best chance at success with their MR/DD approach to the subject. Old undiagnosed autistic like me, figured out the all the right questions to ask and answered them in the ultimate double-blind experience. Obviously Modern Autism was "invented" before we were done with our experience and now for sure, were just trouble makers as they see it. Modern Autistic people were made into the very group home ideal they turned out to be as Modern Autism folks assumed (logically) were dumb as a sack of rocks. That is the MR/DD side to autism. Modern Autism folks never got the chance to self discover our Einstein sides (splinter skills) and then connect the MR/DD side to Rain Man and then on to normal thought. Autism research isn't brave enough to admit that those of us that coaxed our autism mind to full glory must be admitted to. Why would they care anyway? If they keep us quiet they can keep on keeping on, and not face the embarrassment of lawsuits defrocking of their expert status and as our last generation of "unhelped" autistic die off they get "a get out of jail free card" and Mankind is again cheated out of the building block of the human mind.
Well now, here we are our autism anthropology has done the very thing Modern autism is trying so hard to do "coax the autism intellectual Spark from autism into daily life" and despite doing it right under their nose in plain sight, were out in left field (Saying) as the big boys of autism will not humble themselves to admit to the autism they must admit works so well. It took many of us 40 years to do autism on our own. Condense our experience and you could teach autism in 6 years! We are not sorry for our hard earned success and real life achievement. We are just so very sorry it is on the wrong side of the Autism time line.
