Kudos to American Airlines!
Weather one is Autistic or whatever there are certain minimum behavior standards for being in public and if you can't live up to them they have every right to kick you off the plane, bus cab etc. The flying public and the public at large is usually very tolerant and can put up with a lot of questionable behavior for a short time but behavior like this was just pure bad.
It is high time the Autism apologists and autism "experts" admit they made autism a bigger curse than it ever was and let the discovery of real autism to those of us that have figured it out. Older autistic people doing a double-blind autism experience have figured out the building blocks of the mind including social behavior and I can assure you what we learned has never been in a text book before. I can also tell you modern Post Rain Man Autism made a bad situation much worse. If these jerks pretending to be Autism Experts really were they would have figured out the building blocks of the mind just like we have and they to would have connected the MR/DD we start with to Einstein and normal life, just like we have.
The old functioning Autism people that do a close to normal life are banished from Modern Autism 's Charade and for good reason-our almost normal lives and good character horrify the modern Autism "experts" that unknowingly pegged every last one of us as "retard" as their own ignorance magnified autism to an epidemic. The Autism Empire is now established and entire careers are at stake and if they blow their cover and admit to old working autism they would discover they actually made autism worse. They all will be seen a frauds. What Billion Dollar Empire with NASCAR races and cars can ever admit to the more than Autism is a retard condition? Perhaps the Autism "Experts" need to discuss another round of pills for parents traveling with autistic kids-one to put them out. When their Spin Doctors realize they are tarnishing their cause with outbursts that will not subside and realize pissed off people will not donate to Autism Telethons they might be wise to re think the pill idea. Just think, Autism could have been a simple 1 threw 6 pre School experience if it was done correctly? It was nearly that before Rain Man the move rewrote autism for the worse. This is an unbelievable story. It would also make you think we live in old communist Russia, not a country priding itself for valuing diversity.
Yes, a mother and her child were kicked off an American Eagle flight because she "wasn't able to control her toddler."
According to ABC Eyewitness News, the mother says she was "doing all she could to calm the autistic boy," but got "no sympathy from the flight crew."
The flight attendant kept coming over and tugging the kid's seatbelt to make it tighter. He, in turn, kept wiggling around and trying to get out of his seatbelt. And, according to the mother, the flight attendant kept coming over, reprimanding him, and yelling at him until he got really upset and started rolling around on the floor. At which point, everyone involved lost it.
Then, the pilot apparently made an announcement that there was a woman and her child on the plane and the child is uncontrollable. He turned the plane around and headed back to the terminal.
American Airlines (American Eagle's parent), of course, had a different story. They said the mother was pitching a "raging fit" and refused to comply with FAA regulations.
My question is: what did the other passengers do? Did they try to help the mother? Did they offer to wait until the child settles down? Or, do we live in a world where independent judgment and flexibility have vanished?
