Susan Boyle
Susan Boyle - One of Autism's Finer Moments.
Talk of the Wizard of Oz (Autism's Bill Stillman) would be and probably is beaming when he seen this 2009 edition of Britain's got Talent. I just seen the clip for the first time and was stunned autistically as I realized Susan, like me and many others absently molded autism to some sort of success. Her whole performance was autism 101. Of course, no Autism professional would have a clue to all of her body language and odd behavior and not simply label it 'odd'. She did a stunning performance of -I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserbales. It had the audience standing in ovation. This was her Splinter skill, music and performance.
At the start of her performance she was seemingly trying too hard to be coy and for sure Autism Picture Thoughts were having a very hard time coming up with the word village. You could see her eyes were OFF and she was 'looking into space" but, her minds eye those brain generated pictures were working to come up with the word 'village'. At the end of the performance she was off base and started leaving the stage- that would be autism working at its best. Our mind is not trained to ,get it right.
Susan like many of us were old enough NOT to be blessed with Rain man Era Autism antics and a you can see we might be the Village Idiot in some respects but we DO find a way to shine! If Psychology and research could follow her picture thoughts they would be so stunned to discover if they could follow her thoughts they are not retard thoughts as she (we present) just the obvious to us slow motion ,long hand version of human thought. If only psychology knew the inside information we do or could figure it out or even more to the point admit to those of us that have they would know the next 1000 chapters in psychology.
Of course contemporary autism is a royal mess funded and buzzworded to death and the sad part is the real down to earth autism got lost in the translation. Also lost was key to humanity and the next 1000 chapters in psychology. These chapters are not discoverable as what we do is the long hand version of normal human thought. Normal humans think in often flawed short cut thoughts -don't know it- and then ignorantly try to figure out the impossible (to them). If all of these secrets and long hand thoughts were known psychology would be solved and mankind would be humbled to the point of tears.

Ok, she's probably autistic, and probably still hasn't been properly diagnosed yet. It was just 'learning difficulties' when she was growing up.
She did have a breakdown after failing to win the final of the series and was sent to 'the priory' for a bit to recover, and I expect she is now heavily styled and managed.
For all her success with the subsequent etc. I don't think it's really genuine, she's more of a 'novelty act' than a professional singer.
Sure she sings better than anyone expected someone who presented like her would be able to, but she wouldn't actually be cast in any major roles, or have much success if she hadn't got all the fame from appearing on the show.
I dreamed a dream is from Les Miserables, not The Wizard of Oz. You must be thinking of Over The Rainbow.
